all though this has already started, can I still volunteer?
  • Stacy Bauter
I was wondering how someone could be part of the crowd to watch the project. I have a son with multiple disabilities and he LOVES Extreme Home Makeover and I would like for him to experience some of it in person. We have some of the episodes recorded and he watches at least one episode a day. I don't see any information on your website for spectators and would like to be able to bring my son to observe and support the volunteers.

  • vicster61
I have watched the show since the very beginning and would love to help in any way including passing out snacks and drinks. I filled out the application but haven't heard anything back yet. I volunteered at the Tulsa Zoo last year and put in between 8-900 hours just last year. I am currently out of town but can be back in town in less than 3 hours. Please let me know if I can be of any help.
  • Jamie
I too am a volunteer for the project -- and my shift is 6pm to 1 am.Thursday (right smack in the middle of this big storm!) I also have concerns about how the weather will impact the build. I know logistically it would be difficult to assign people up front to tasks, but it would be helpful to know if I need to go buy thermal underwear !!
  • Volunteer
What kind of plans are being made for the extreme weather that is anticipated to hit Thursday? How will this affect the build?
  • Jason Spiva
Be sure to check your spam filter!
I use gmail, and the spam filter caught the Volunteer response message, just found it this morning 1/26.

If anyone from Simmons is reading this, you may want to send another message with less people per e-mail, and an address in the To: field, or you might end up with less volunteers showing up then you thought.
  • heathertjett

I just wanted to tell you all that I've signed up and I am so willing to help you in this cause. Ever since I've seen what all gets done on home makeover, I have wanted to be a part of the entire concept. I sure hope I'll be able to volunteer and help you guys out! I've gotten a few more people from around here interested and they're excited by the prospect as well. Keep us in mind, and God bless.

My daughter would like the opportunity to help with this project. She is a huge fan of the show and would like nothing more than to spend her 13th birthday helping with this effort. In addition, this would also allow her to earn National Junior Honor Society points. Please let me know if she would be eligible to volunteer. I plan to also participate with her.

Congrats to Greg Simmons and the whole Simmons Homes Team. I am a Realtor with Coldwell Banker SELECT here in Tulsa, and have worked with Simmons Homes on many a new home for my clients. Greg has proven to be such a fantastic community supporter making me proud to be a part of the Tulsa Community. I recieved a personal invitation to volunteer from one of his top sales associates, Angela Drake...and was honored she asked if I would like to help. I have re-arranged my schedule and will be there where needed and as needed. I can't think of a better way to give back to our community!

Good evening!!! I just found online that Extreme Home Makeover is coming to Tulsa soon! How very very exciting! I do have some questions for you...my wife and I applied to be on the show and there are many, many people from our church that have expressed interest in volunteering if for some crazy reason we are nominated. Are there only a certain number of volunteers that will be accepted to work on the project? And if so, can they volunteer after the family has been announced? I haven't heard anything from the show that would give me the indication that it might be our family chosen - I just know lots of folks would love to help out if they can. Thanks so much!

Please feel free to utilize my leadership abilities, skills and expertise in any manner necessary. My office and associates will be joining me in this quest to give back. This is going to be a lot of fun:)

  • Crystal Nichols
My company downsized again last Friday (this is the 6th time in the 5 years I had worked for them). Although I am actively looking for a job, I decided to turn this unfortunate change in my life into a positive experience. One thing I was never able to do because of my busy travel schedule was volunteer in my community. It is uplifting to me to be able to be a part of this experience and jumpstart my giving back to the community.
My schedule is completely open. My past experience selling medical equipment, gives me a great skill set to coordinate projects, keep timelines, and deal with all kinds of people. Please feel free to use me to help in any way I can.

    Thanks for the opportunity,

    Crystal Nichols
  • Thank you so much for the comment. Please click on the volunteer button and sign up. We appreciate it!
